ORLANDO, Fla. -- SeaWorld Orlando officials say rescuers are working to remove guests from the Sky Tower after it stopped working.
The park announced on its official Twitter page Monday afternoon that they were working closely with Orange County Fire Rescue. Officials say they've remained in constant communication with the guests and team members on the ride, and all passengers are safe.
Television images showed the passengers waving to people outside.
The 122-meter Sky Tower, which opened in 1973, features a double-decker, rotating pod that guests board at ground level and take a leisurely ride to the top. The decent is conducted at a similar pace. It is not a drop tower.
