Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to attend a celebration and name reveal for the Toronto Zoo’s giant panda cubs on Monday.
According to an itinerary from the PMO, Trudeau will deliver remarks when the zoo reveals the names of the twin male and female cubs, which are nearly five months old.
In February, the zoo revealed a list of seven pairs of names for the cubs, and asked the public to vote for their favourites in an online poll.
Monday’s event is closed to the public, and the zoo said that the Giant Panda Experience exhibit will be closed for the day. Adult male panda Da Mao will not be viewable to the public.
However, visitors to the Toronto Zoo will be able to meet the cubs starting on March 12.
The cubs and their mother, Er Shun, are currently housed in a maternity den at the zoo.
