Canadian dies in Puerto Vallarta, authorities confirm

Global Affairs Canada confirmed on Monday that a Canadian citizen has died in a Mexican resort town.

"Our thought are with the family and friends of the Canadian Citizen who passed away in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico," Global Affairs spokesperson John Babcock said in a statement to CTV News.

"Consular officials in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico are in contact with family members and have offered their support and consular assistance."

For privacy reasons, Babcock said the department could not confirm the citizen's identity or release further details on the death.
