An Air Canada flight flying from the New York City area to Vancouver made an unexpected landing in Toronto due to a pressurization problem Friday night.
Air Canada Flight 549 took off from Newark Liberty International Airport just before 6 p.m. ET and touched down in Toronto shortly before 8 p.m. ET.
The airline said that a pressurization problem with an air conditioning unit led to the landing.
“Standard procedures were followed and the aircraft descended to 10,000 feet,” said spokesperson Angela Mah. “Emergency services were requested as a precaution only, and the aircraft landed normally without incident.”
The flight will not carry on to Vancouver, according to Air Canada’s website.
Instead, arrangements have been made to get all 107 passengers to Vancouver on other flights.
