Shots fired from Calgary home, area residents told to seek shelter: police

CALGARY -- Police in Calgary are asking residents of a neighbourhood on the city's north side to take shelter in their basements after receiving reports of gunfire.

Calgary police say no injuries have been reported and they are working to verify whether shots were fired.

They are advising people in the Huntington Hills area of the city to stay in their basements.

Police say they received reports of possible shots fired at about 4:40 p.m.

People are also being asked to avoid the area until the situation is resolved.

Due to an ongoing police incident please stay out of the Huntington Hills Area. Residents is this area are advised to shelter in their bsmt.
