ST. JOHN'S, N.L. -- An American Airlines passenger jet has made an emergency landing in St. John's, N.L. Sunday night after running into severe turbulence.
Paramedics rushed toward the plane with stretchers and what appeared to be a backboard.
Journalists at St. John's International Airport have reported seeing three people on stretchers.
American flight 206 left Miami bound for Milan.
At least four ambulances and a fire truck are on the tarmac in St. John's.
The airline did not immediately return a phone call asking for comment.
A spokeswoman for St. John's International Airport couldn't speak to the number of people injured or the severity of the injuries.
The plane had 192 passengers and 11 crew on board.
