LONDON, Ont. - Ontario's highest court has reduced the 10-year sentence handed to a London, Ont., man convicted in the death of his infant son.
Rourke Desmanche was found guilty in February 2013 of assault and manslaughter in the 10-week-old's death and sentenced two years ago.
The child was found unresponsive in a London home and spent several weeks in critical condition before dying of his injuries in August 2010.
Desmanche was arrested in Regina the following month after weeks on the run.
Ontario's Court of Appeal, in a ruling released this week, gave Desmanche credit of 4.75 years for time served in pre-sentence custody, reducing his sentence to 5.25 years.
