Police in Belize say they are investigating the death of Matthiew Klinck, a 37-year-old film director and producer from Quebec.
Klinck’s body was found Sunday night in a village called Selena, located in Belize’s Cayo district, according to police Supt. Andrew Ramirez.
A post mortem found 14 stab wounds on Klinck’s upper back and neck, Ramirez said. Klinck was last seen by a witness around 4 p.m. local time on Saturday.
Police say they have contacted the Canadian consulate in Belize.
According to IMDb, Klinck was born in Alymer, Que. His film credits include “Greg & Gentillon,” “Hank and Mike,” and “Une mission a partager.”
Klinck was reportedly producing a TV series in Belize at the time of his death.
