Then he put it in reverse and backed over him.

Asked by a TV reporter how he and his teammates planned to celebrate their win in Glasgow, the world No. 4 shocked everyone when he stitched up Dominic Inglot, who was standing across from him.

“Dom’s got a little girlfriend on the go here so he’ll maybe celebrate with her this evening,” Murray told Eurosport’s Annabel Croft.

Little did he know Inglot’s real girlfriend was watching back home.

“You’ve actually landed me in this,” Inglot said. “You’ve actually landed me in this.

“Because I’ve actually got a girlfriend who’s going to be watching this.”

Murray burst out in laughter, eventually making his way over to his teammate –- who appeared in good spirits –- before shaking his hand as the group entered the dressing rooms.
