Love your enemy, you must: German church delivers 'Star Wars'-themed service

"Star Wars" fans flocked Sunday to the German capital's Zion Church for a special service themed around the sci-fi movie.

About 500 people, some carrying light saber props or wearing Darth Vader masks, attended the service, more than twice as many as usual on a Sunday.

Protestant pastor Lucas Ludewig said he and fellow pastor Ulrike Garve wanted to show that "Star Wars" draws on religious imagery and "that the Bible and the Church are part of our culture."

With the film's theme song -- played on the church organ -- still echoing around the church, the 30-year-old said the aim was to hold a service that wasn't "too Christian or too Star Wars, but to find a good compromise."
