Cosby's attorneys move Pittsburgh-area suit to federal court

PITTSBURGH -- Bill Cosby's attorneys have moved a defamation lawsuit by a Pittsburgh-area woman from state to federal court.

The document filed late Tuesday is known as a notice of removal.

It lets someone move a lawsuit to federal court if the parties live in different legal jurisdictions.

The filing says Cosby is a resident of Massachusetts, while Renita Hill, his accuser, lives in Baldwin, a Pittsburgh suburb.

Cosby's attorneys didn't immediately comment early Wednesday. Hill's attorney says she still hopes to hold Cosby accountable for his actions.

The 48-year-old woman sued in October claiming Cosby drugged and had sex with her several times after they met on a children's educational TV show in 1983. She says Cosby's blanket denials that he abused her and other women make her out to be a liar.
